This festival celebrates the remarkable achievements and influence of the Kerry patron St Brendan the Navigator(484-577AD) with a range of outdoor activities, cultural, religious and musical events in Ardfert , Fenit and Tralee.
3rd -6th May 2013 – Walk the Kerry Camino
Enjoy a fabulous 3 days walking experience from Tralee to Dingle. Walk in the footsteps of the Kerry people through the ages. From the time of Saint Brendan, The Navigator, when monks and pilgrims walked to Dingle to travel on to the Camino in Spain, and elsewhere. Meet other travellers en route. Enjoy spectacular views and scenery of mountains and beaches, and the famous hospitality of the locals. For more info please click here
1st June – The Kingdom Alliance Sportive
The Kingdom Alliance Sportive will be divided into three stages, held over three days, and each stage will start and finish in Tralee. Scheduled to take place on the June Bank Holiday weekend on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd of June, The Kingdom Alliance Sportive will take riders around North and East Kerry in Stage 1, through the McGillicuddy Reeks on the ‘Queen Stage’ on Sunday, and the Dingle Peninsula on Stage 3. 14th Aug – 20th August – Rose of Tralee Festival
The Rose of Tralee International Festival is one of Ireland’s largest and longest running festivals, celebrating 54 years in 2013. The heart of the festival is the selection of the Rose of Tralee which brings young women of Irish descent from around the world to County Kerry, Ireland for a global celebration of Irish culture. The festival also includes street entertainment, carnival, live concerts, theatre, circus, markets, funfair, fireworks and our internationally renowned Rose Parade.
